Mental wellness

Mental wellness, bundled into your membership.

Therapy for everyday concerns — anxiety, stress, depression, grief, sleep, life transitions, and relationships — plus psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Included with your Blue Line Health membership through our nationwide provider network.

Membership coverage

What your membership covers.

Two care lanes delivered through Blue Line Health's nationwide network of providers — therapy on the left, psychiatry and medication management on the right. No claim forms — your Blue Line Health team coordinates any paperwork that arises.

Therapy lane

Talk therapy, on a cadence that fits your week.
One-on-one sessions with a licensed clinician from our nationwide network — matched to the concerns you bring, with intake, ongoing cadence, and a path to step up or step down as your needs change.
Hours & modality

Therapy is available 7am to 10pm local time, 7 days a week by phone or video in most states. In Colorado and North Carolina, therapy is video only — phone sessions are not available in those two states.

Prescriptions are not part of the therapy lane — medication is handled in the psychiatry lane.

Common concerns covered

  • Anxiety and chronic stress
  • Mood, depression, and low motivation
  • Grief, loss, and major life transitions
  • Sleep, burnout, and recovery patterns
  • Relationship and family conflict
  • Work pressure, career change, and identity questions
  • Adjustment to a new diagnosis or chronic condition

Psychiatry lane

Evaluation, medication management, and follow-up.
Board-certified prescribers from our nationwide network — starting with a thorough psychiatric evaluation and continuing with structured medication management as treatment evolves.
Age & prescribing carve-outs

Psychiatry is available to members 14 and older. Members under 14 are not eligible for the psychiatry lane, even when enrolled on a Family plan.

Psychiatry in this network does not prescribe DEA-scheduled (controlled) substances — stimulants, benzodiazepines, and other controlled medications are coordinated through an in-network referral when clinically warranted.

What the psychiatry lane covers

  • Initial psychiatric evaluation and diagnosis
  • Medication management with ongoing prescriber review
  • Titration, side-effect checks, and refill coordination
  • Coordination back to your therapist and virtual primary care

Crisis protocol

During a mental-health crisis, your Blue Line Health care team transfers you to 988.

988 — the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is the staffed, immediate response for in-person acute crisis. The Blue Line Health mental-health network is not staffed for in-person acute crisis evaluation or stabilization; in those moments we connect you with 988 or your nearest emergency department.

  • Call or text 988 for free, 24/7 crisis support.
  • For a life-threatening situation, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Nationwide network

One membership. A national network of therapists and prescribers.

Mental wellness through your Blue Line Health membership is delivered through our nationwide network of therapists and prescribers behind both lanes above. From a therapy intake across town to a psychiatry appointment while you travel, your membership is the credential that opens the door at every step.

How a session works

Members request an appointment from the appointments dashboard; the network matches you with a therapist or prescriber based on the concerns and modality you chose. Your Blue Line Health care team handles the handoff — sharing relevant history, confirming the visit, and routing future bookings back into the same network.

What to expect at a session

First sessions are intake: your clinician learns the context, agrees on goals, and builds an ongoing cadence that fits your week. Therapy sessions run on a recurring rhythm with progress check-ins; psychiatry visits are spaced to allow medication changes to settle before the next prescriber review. Both lanes write summary notes your Blue Line Health care team can pull into the rest of your record.

What the membership isn't

Mental wellness is bundled — not billed separately. There is no second subscription, no per-session fee, and no therapy copays to track. Acute crisis, in-patient stabilization, or care that falls outside the Blue Line Health mental-health network is coordinated by your Blue Line Health care team directly, the same way it is for the other lanes your membership covers.

Mental wellness FAQ

Five questions people ask before they sign up.

How soon can I see a psychiatrist through the network?

Therapy intake is typically scheduled within days. Psychiatry visits may take a little longer to match — initial evaluations are booked based on clinical need and prescriber availability in your state, and your Blue Line Health care team keeps you informed while you wait. There is no separate subscription to start the process.

What concerns are covered, and what is out of scope?

The two lanes cover the everyday concerns people bring to a therapist or a prescriber: anxiety, depression, grief, sleep trouble, life transitions, relationship conflict, and the psychiatric conditions a clinician can evaluate and treat with medication. The network is not the right fit for acute psychiatric crisis, in-patient stabilization, court-ordered evaluation, or substance-use detox — in those moments your Blue Line Health care team transfers you to 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or coordinates the right next step with you directly. Care in both lanes is delivered by phone or video; sessions are not in person.

Are there state limits on therapy modalities?

Therapy is offered by phone or video in most states. In Colorado and North Carolina, the network delivers therapy by video only — there is no phone option in those two states, and your Blue Line Health care team confirms the right modality for your location at intake.

What is the age limit for psychiatry?

Psychiatry is available to members 14 and older. Members under 14 can stay enrolled under a Family plan, but the psychiatry lane is not staffed for that age group — your care team will help route to an appropriate pediatric specialist when it fits the situation.

Does psychiatry prescribe controlled substances?

No. Psychiatry in the Blue Line Health mental-health network does not prescribe DEA-scheduled (controlled) substances, including stimulants and benzodiazepines. Clinicians evaluate, prescribe non-controlled medications, and coordinate any in-network referral that is clinically warranted for a controlled medication.

Is care telehealth, in person, or both?

Mental wellness sessions are delivered by phone or video only — the mental-health lane is telehealth throughout Blue Line Health's nationwide network. There is no in-person session option inside the membership; for acute mental-health emergencies the right path is 988 or the nearest emergency department (see the crisis protocol below).

How does mental wellness coordinate with my virtual primary care?

Your therapist and prescriber work from inside the same nationwide mental-health network, and your Blue Line Health care team is the continuity layer across them — sharing medication lists, visit summaries, and follow-up needs with your virtual primary-care clinician when you ask. Members who already use the chronic or urgent care path see a single record that includes their mental-health plan.

How do therapy and psychiatry sit alongside the chronic and urgent care paths?

Mental wellness is one of the six lanes inside your Blue Line Health membership — alongside virtual primary care, urgent care, teledentistry, dental savings, and vision savings. Bookings, visit summaries, and escalation all flow through the same membership, so a therapy session and a virtual primary-care follow-up land in the same record with no separate insurance product to navigate.
